Burns: Burns can result from various heat sources, including flames, hot objects, chemicals, electricity, radiation, or even friction.

Burns can vary widely in severity, ranging from first-degree (superficial) burns, which affect the top layer of skin, to second-degree (partial-thickness) burns, which affect deeper layers, to third-degree (full-thickness) burns, which can damage all layers of skin and underlying tissues.

The initial first aid for both Scalds and Burns often involves cooling the affected area with cold water, covering it with a clean cloth or sterile dressing, and seeking medical attention if the injury is severe.
SUMMARY
Burns and scalds are damage to the skin caused by heat. A burn is caused by dry heat, for example, by an iron or fire. A scald is caused by something wet, such as hot coffee etc.
It's important to differentiate between scalds and burns to provide appropriate first aid and medical care. Additionally, preventive measures like being cautious in the kitchen and around hot objects can help reduce the risk of both types of injuries.
