Morality and Religion have a complex and interconnected relationship. Throughout history, religion has played a significant role in shaping moral frameworks and providing guidance on ethical principles. Many religious traditions offer moral codes, commandments, or teachings that believers are expected to follow. These codes often address issues such as honesty, fairness, compassion, respect for others, and the distinction between right and wrong.

Religion can provide a foundation for morality by offering a set of values and principles that guide individuals in their behavior and decision-making. It often provides a sense of accountability to a higher power or divine authority, which can motivate individuals to adhere to moral standards.

However, it is important to note that morality is not solely derived from religion. Secular or non-religious individuals can also develop moral frameworks based on philosophical principles, empathy, social norms, and personal experiences. Moral reasoning can be influenced by a variety of factors, including culture, upbringing, education, and personal reflection.

Additionally, religious perspectives on morality can vary widely, both within and between different religions. Different interpretations of religious texts and doctrines can lead to diverse moral viewpoints, which sometimes results in conflicting moral judgments. As a result, even within a religious community, there can be debates and disagreements about specific moral issues.

Moreover, societies have evolved over time, and moral values have also shifted. While religious teachings provide a foundation for moral frameworks, they are not static and can adapt to societal changes. This is evident in the fact that religious traditions have undergone reinterpretation and reformulation throughout history to address new ethical challenges.

In summary, religion has historically played a significant role in shaping moral frameworks and providing guidance on ethical behavior. However, morality is not exclusive to religion, and individuals can develop their own moral frameworks based on a variety of factors. The relationship between morality and religion is complex, and it is influenced by individual beliefs, societal norms, and the interpretation of religious teachings.

No doubt, there are certain communities in India which consider the birth of a girl child an inauspicious burden. In a male dominated society , the birth of a girl child is not an occasion for rejoicing . But the most unfortunate & alarming thing is that even in most prosperous states foetal killing & abortions are very com...
